My Writing Process
I like to have the book cover ready before I write because that helps me visualize the characters. I then come up with a loose outline, so I know each character’s overall story arc, where they start at the beginning of the book and the challenges they face, the conflicts they’ll encounter throughout, and the personal and relationship changes they’ll go through by the end of the book.
In terms of the actual writing, I try to get in anywhere from 500 to 1000 words a day. I also have two critique partners whom I trade chapters with and a proofreader who helps me polish up my books before publishing them.
(Yes, that’s a photo of our Pomeranian Madeline who likes to help me write.)
