My Writing Process

I like to have the book cover ready before I write because that helps me visualize the characters. I then come up with a loose outline, so I know each character’s overall story arc, where they start at the beginning of the book and the challenges they face, the conflicts they’ll encounter throughout, and the personal and relationship changes they’ll go through by the end of the book.

In terms of the actual writing, I try to get in anywhere from 500 to 1000 words a day. I also have two critique partners whom I trade chapters with and a proofreader who helps me polish up my books before publishing them.

(Yes, that’s a photo of our Pomeranian Madeline who likes to help me write.)

My Favorites

The beach

All things pink

Chocolate with nuts

Crafty stuff

Bad puns

Chick flicks

Emo love songs

Boba tea (That’s me with a pair of boba socks that my sis gave me!)

Liwen Y. Ho works as a chauffeur and referee by day (AKA being a stay at home mom) and an author by night. She writes sweet and inspirational contemporary romance infused with heart, humor, and a taste of home (her Asian roots).

In her pre-author life, she received a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary, and she loves makeovers of all kinds, especially those of the heart and mind. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her techie husband and their two children.
